Broadview, the leading UK manufacturer and supplier of blinds, awnings and print and sign solutions, provided interior shading and signage for 11 of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s mobile lifeguard units in advance of the 2011 beach lifeguard season.

The blinds were printed with emergency information for members of the public, highlighting the number to call for help after 6pm when the lifeguards are no longer on duty. They also have a solar protective coating (SPC) to ensure that internal heat and solar glare are reduced. Additionally, a thin, transparent, non-reflective window film was applied to the interior of each polycarbonate window in the mobile lifeguard units, blocking 99 per cent of UV rays entering through the windows.

This project brought together the Broadview blinds and signage businesses to offer the RNLI a complete ‘one-stop shop’ service, which included the design and installation of bespoke roller blinds, delivery of window film and exterior graphics.

Mark Pratt, managing director at Broadview, said: “This is a fantastic project for us to work on and we welcomed the opportunity to assist in kitting out these mobile units which provide a facility for the lifeguards, who provide an extremely worthwhile service.”
