SWS UK distributor, Alliance Security Installations, has taken the first small step into space by installing four SWS UK SeceuroShield 3800 extruded aluminium, security shutters to a travelling ‘Space Ride Simulator’.
The ride, which travels the length and breadth of Britain, is a popular draw at many fairgrounds and other locations such as Chester Race Course and Ashton shopping centre. The cabin, on the lorry- mounted ride, which acts as a payment kiosk and ride control centre, was considered vulnerable to thieves and vandals. Paul Young, of Alliance, explained, “There had been attempts to steal the cash, and also attempts to gain entry into the cabin, presumably to try to get the ride started; a case of attempted ‘space joy riding’?” Paul continued, “The owner was very pleased with the end result, not just the product itself but the matching colour, ease of use, and security – we fitted additional bottom slat locks in the curtains on the two side windows which are belt operated – but also that we had turned up to a fairground to survey for the job in the first place, and actually came back to install the shutters! The owner commented that he had found it difficult to get security companies to attend site but that he was very satisfied with the way Alliance dealt with the overall job”. Colin Reoch, SWS UK commercial director, commented, “The versatility of our products is one of SWS UK’s strengths. We pride ourselves on designing, and manufacturing, physical security products which are both proven to protect property and adaptable to suit almost any type of installation”.
