Leading awning specialist markilux is expanding its range of lighting systems for patios and balconies.
 Warm evenings by candlelight are certainly romantic, but sometimes more light is needed to make evenings on the patio or balcony a relaxing experience.
markilux awning systems offer protection from cool evenings whilst simultaneously offering discreet, atmospheric lighting to provide that extra magic. With two new systems, the markilux 1650 and the Spotline for the markilux 5010, markilux, the awning specialist based in Emsdetten, Germany, is expanding its range of lighting systems.
markilux 1650 with halogen spots
An elegant, curved, powder-coated coverboard gives the markilux 1650 semi-cassette awning the appearance of a full cassette. The awning is particularly stylish in fashionable colours, some of which are combined with elegant bright chrome fittings. This new awning is based on the well-known technology of the markilux 1600 with a projection of 4 metres. Adjustable halogen spots integrated in the aluminium front profile are a new feature. Depending on the width of the awning, up to five spots provide accentuated lighting – even when the awning is retracted. Cables are concealed in the folding arm profiles. The improved power transference of the arm mechanism is also new. A corrosion-protected, twin steel-link chain makes this possible. Optimised profile cross sections give this new model greater flexural strength.
New Spotline for the markilux 5010
The markilux 5010 is now also available with the Spotline lighting system. The slimline lighting strip, made of powder-coated aluminium, is mounted at the rear of the cassette housing with prefitted brackets and controlled via an on/off switch. It can be rotated up to 60 degrees, allowing varied illumination of patios or balconies. This is because the lights integrated in the strip can be rotated by up to 360 degrees.
The markilux Spotline comes in two different sizes: it is available with three halogen spots in a width of 2 metres and with five halogen spots in a width of 3 metres. The spots each have a rating of 20 watts and come in the standard colours of traffic white (RAL 9016) and metallic aluminium (RAL 9006). Other RAL colours are available at an additional charge on request.
The power cable is secured with self-adhesive cable clips. The Spotline can also be mounted on walls and ceilings with a rotating, hinged bracket.
