Celtic Inns installs its first Smoking Room
Friday, 10 March 2006 01:00

Southampton-based Celtic Inns installed its first smoking room in one of its pubs in Cardiff following a refurbishment in February this year.

It was a four-modular installation that was attached to the wall; a motorised system that can either be open or enclose the area. There are windows installed in the front at seating level. Sign writing on the front contains advertising from sponsors and is applied using specially made inks which are guaranteed for three years. Also, on site were solid wind breaks giving an advertising panel plus a rounded toughened-glass top. All these products are fabricated by local engineers in Pembrokeshire. The area was covered in the chosen colours with a guttering system. With low cost electric heaters in place the room has become a sanctuary where people can sit, drink, eat, chat and smoke in the fresh air during the summer but also in the spring, autumn and winter. Their feeling is that within the summer season alone the area would have paid for itself.
