One of the latest products from Markilux, the new 6000 folding-arm awning, was the recent winner of the reddot design award 2006.
The endeavour to provide high-quality and attractive innovative products is a company strategy pursued by the Schmitz-Werke GmbH + Co. KG, Markilux's parent company. The new Markilux 6000, which had its debut at R+T, won the reddot design award for its high-quality design. It was developed by Professor Andreas Kramer, who will receive the award on 26 June, at the opera house in Essen. The international jury received over 2,000 entries from 41 countries for the coveted reddot design award 2006. The management of the Schmitz-Werke was absolutely delighted about their new design-award-winning patio awning: "This award confirms_that our_company strategy - to develop highly innovative products that are not overpriced - is the right way to go," said Justus Schmitz. Since 1955, the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen has been marking outstanding international product design with is famous dot. In 2000, Design Innovations - as the competition was previously called - was given a new, international name: the red dot award: product design.
