The room concept with its harmonious colour and material co-ordinated combinations shows the products from their best side. Sales manager Klaus Wuchner explained: "Markilux manufactures high-quality products with a high aesthetic value. The new showroom is designed to underline this aspect and present our awnings and covers in the atmosphere for which they are intended – for the patio as an extension of the living room."

Generous, light, airy and modern is the room concept that has evolved from "patio feeling, leisure and wellness" aspects, emphasising the colour transparency of the awning covers. Interior designer Doris Leunig from Duderstadt developed the design concept together with her husband: "We wanted to create a patio atmosphere using the natural materials wood and stone with the inclusion of small design details such as artificial grass or indirect floor lighting. This room should radiate a feel good ambience and be a suitable framework for the presentation of the products."

Plain façade elements in discreet colours are enhanced by the products. Wall elements in warm reddish tones blend in with the colour of the building together with contrasting pale yellow tones – symbolising the sun – create the mood. Aluminium, stainless steel and glass provide the contrast for modern architecture, clarity and aesthetics with large-sized, discreet lifestyle photos setting accents. Track lighting on the walls, discreet ceiling spots and a modular track system with variable lights, create natural lighting effects similar to sunlight.

At two separate information desks, customers can inform themselves about all markilux products in a relaxed, summer atmosphere.
"With the new showroom, we have given new direction to the markilux image that highlights the special attributes of our products," said managing director Justus Schmitz in his speech at the opening ceremony.
