Markilux is in the process of finalising the new range of awnings and parasols to be launched for the new legislation coming in to Wales in April and England in July. There is a growing momentum of orders and enquiries building up toward the ban and this seems to be from the people in the know within, not only our industry, but from new sectors outside our trade.
Markilux has developed new products to ensure that its partners will steadily win business by reputation of quality, not only of Markilux but by their expertise in fitting as accredited Markilux Partners. A brand new self supporting roof awning is in the final stages of testing, with every aspect being carefully considered. Everything that a customer will need to provide a smoking shelter will be on offer, enabling them to create the desired comfortable area for customers to enjoy their food and drinks. The joints and couplings are, as is usual for Markilux, made from drop-forged aluminium to ensure that even in extreme conditions the awning will not let the customer “ or their patrons “ down. The drive and tension system are also a mainstay of the new product, just like our existing 8000 series. Kevlar belts are used to ensure that there is no stretch in the drive, so that the installer does not have to return time and again to re-adjust the tension, and finally to replace cords when you have run out of adjustment! The tension system is again tried and tested with the Markilux gas piston, to make sure of a perfectly taught cover. Classic design with a host of surprises
The result can be seen: the elegant stainless steel design exudes modern styling with attractive details. The roller and cover of the folding-arm awning are fully weather protected in a brushed stainless steel cassette. Stainless steel, as an incomparably resistant material that keeps its attractive looks for years, was also used for the side cheeks, roller support brackets and front profile. The choice of proven, high-quality fabrics for the supporting tube, wall and top brackets in combination with galvanised, powder-coated steel and aluminium reflects the latest advances in awning technology and industry standards. The aluminium colour contrasts tastefully with that of the stainless steel components. These aluminium components have already proved their quality and durability over a period of many years. An additional bonus as far as ease-of-care is concerned is the application of a special, water-repellent coating which inhibits the adhesion of dirt. The components of the Markilux - 6000 were used for the arm mechanism. The aluminium arm pivots are designed for continuous duty due to the bionic tendon feature. This maintenance-free and silent pivot mechanism of the newest generation utilises the extraordinary stability and high durability of high-tech fibres for much greater improved force transmission and cover tension. The ES-X is the classic design awning of stainless steel featuring easy care, durable high-tech fabrics with a perfectly balanced price-performance relation. It is available in widths of up to 6.50 metres and a maximum projection of 3.50 metres. The awning comes with an electric motor and radio remote control as standard and can be combined with all covers in our collection. The new design awning Markilux ES-X will come into the market in April 2007.
