Branded parasols produced from Valmex Airtex have been installed at two restaurants in Leicester Square by Broadview

Since its opening in autumn 2007, The Mermaid’s Tail has quickly established itself as one of the finest fish and chip restaurants in London and Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse remains a popular brand of restaurant in the City. With the pedestrian Square bustling with street entertainment and visitors, both restaurants wanted to introduce undercover environments which would provide a trendy, comfortable outdoor facility for diners as well as increase the restaurants’ awareness in the Square. Working in partnership, HG Imports and Broadview were appointed to design, manufacture and install three large-span parasols at The Mermaid’s Tail and six large-span parasols at the Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse that would complement the interior of each restaurant.  

Each parasol is four metres by four metres in dimension and they have been constructed with aluminium masts, stainless steel fittings and winder systems for easy opening and closing. The parasols are branded to complement each restaurant and are produced from Valmex Airtex, a high water and UV resistant fabric which guarantees an excellent long-term appearance. The low weight and high tear strength are also outstanding features of this fabric.

The parasols have successfully extended the seating areas at both restaurants, with The Mermaid’s Tail accommodating a further 48 customers and the Aberdeen Angus Steakhouse accommodating an extra 92 customers outside.
