| Broadview adds finishing touch to child hospital |
|
In support of the Child Development Centre at Poole Hospital, Broadview has designed and installed a bespoke blind system to enable patients to benefit from the interactive and sensory equipment within the room.
Catering for pre-school aged children from across East Dorset and their families, the centre’s development room contains a variety of lights and bubble tubes which help to stimulate the senses. In order for the children to fully benefit from the sensory equipment, the hospital required a suitable window covering which would reduce heat gain, remove solar glare and effectively block-out the incoming light. As a result, Broadview designed and manufactured a black-out roller blind to cover a 2.4 metre drop by 1.75 metre wide window. Produced from the highest-grade PVC fabric, the cream blind is flame-retardant and blocks out UV rays by 100 per cent. Mary Thomas, Play Specialist in the Poole Hospital Child Development Centre, said: “We would like to thank the team at Broadview for supplying this blind to our Child Development Centre. “In the past, we have used curtains and even paint on the window but this roller blind provides a much better solution. The children visiting the centre will now be able to fully enjoy the benefits that our sensory equipment offers.” Ian Pratt, managing director at Broadview, said: “This centre provides an extremely important service and we are pleased to offer our support to such as worthwhile scheme.”
