Spring fever

Arena showers its customers with new products If, as comedian and actor Robin Williams once said, “Spring is nature’s way of saying ‘Let’s party,’” April promises to be a revellers’ dream as royal wedding mania grips the nation and Arena celebrates the introduction of yet more new products.

“Following hot on the heels of the launch of our new roller and vertical collections, we’re now launching a further three new product ranges: pleated, romans and wood,” says Paul Harper, Arena’s general manager. “Arena is never one to sit on its laurels and this year we’re really raising the bar. With five new product launches happening in just the first four months alone, 2011 promises to be quite a year for us.

“Arena has always recognised the importance of identifying and launching new products. We’ve offered the trade the widest choice of competitively priced products combined with unbeatable service for more than 25 years and aim to keep at the forefront of innovation in what is a fast-evolving environment.

“And supplying made-to-measure product at exceptional value for money is at the heart of our business strategy. Our reputation is built on superior customer service and the widest breadth of product,” continues Paul. “Our commitment to this requires continued significant investment in the business, which allows our customers to focus on the all-important part of their business: marketing and selling the product.”

Sarah Quilliam, head of product design for Arena, outlines the key features of each new range:
“Our collections are put together with both current and future trends and buying patterns in mind. Our challenge is to create ranges that combine contemporary design with timeless classics. We recognise the importance of delivering exciting fabrics and colour palettes that reflect the aspirations and means of the homeowner. And as many people still choose by colour, we continue to showcase our fabrics in a rainbow swatch in impactful presenters.

“February saw the unveiling of new Dimensions roller and vertical ranges, which feature many fabrics exclusive to Arena and are influenced by customer feedback. Sheers were also introduced together with more blackout options, some of which feature colour coordinating backings and there are entry-price-level fabrics in several designs. Over half of the roller fabrics are also available in the verticals collection and 60 per cent of vertical fabrics coordinate with rollers.

Rollers collection
“Mouthwatering brights, fabulous florals and quirky fabrics give a modern retro vibe to the new roller blind collection from Dimensions. An upbeat colour palette brings a burst of spring freshness and vibrancy into the home – a perfect antidote to gloomy winter weather. Prints are also key with a huge variety of colours, textures and themes to choose from.

“The collection features 254 fabrics, 91 of which are new, spanning a wide choice of sheers, woven textures and plains that range from neutrals to vibrant accent shades, more blackout options and a stunning portfolio of prints, five of which are exclusive to Dimensions.

“We’ve really upped the ante in the style stakes with a fabulous collection that combines great functionality with chic appeal. Almost half of the fabrics in this 232-strong range are new with contemporary prints, bold colours, sheers and interesting weaves adding the ‘wow’ factor to windows.

“In March, we introduced the new romans and pleated collections… Vintage-style fabrics, eye-popping brights and nature-inspired patterns are hot news this season, and Dimensions by Arena’s new range of stunning roman blind fabrics fit these trends perfectly.

“The collection is a directional mix of on-trend, inspirational and design-led fabrics. While neutrals will always be popular, we’re finding that interior styles are becoming more individual and consumers are introducing more colour and personality into their homes. This is reflected in our latest romans collection, which is awash with rich, bold and interesting colours, unusual designs and many more prints. Comprising 137 fabrics, all available with either a standard or blackout option, it offers something for everyone.

“Our brand new pleated collection is the largest and most comprehensive ever with a total of 168 fabrics ranging from contemporary colours and designs to those with solar shade control. Arena is also on a mission to convince the nation that pleated blinds, whilst the perfect choice for conservatory roofs, are actually also a great choice throughout the home. Sheer fabrics are being introduced to tap into the latest market trends along with new blackout and FR fabrics, again reflecting market demands.

“We are introducing a whole host of new colours into our Sherwood wood blinds collection. This incorporates on-trend colours including grey, which is billed as the ‘new neutral’, soft whites and contrasting black, and introduces a 63mm-wide slat for the first time, all fantastically presented for a truly inspiring range. New accessories include metal cord pulls and a grey braid tape.

“We are also launching Wood Expressions, an exciting range of wood-effect blinds in seven colours and three slat widths (38, 50 and 63mm). They’re flame-retardant and moisture-resistant, easy to clean and perfect for kitchens and bathrooms. They can be made to measure up to 2.59m wide and larger blinds come with patented Easi-Lift system for a smooth operation.”
