Blinds & Shutters takes a look at a selection of the products and innovation that was on show Junkers & Müllers was exhibiting a broad range of PVC-free textile screen materials which have the same properties as PVC coated materials, textiles with a metallic, glamorous and sophisticated look and a new collection of pleated blinds, prints and unis in trendy colours and designs specially matched for pleated qualities. RA Irwin & Co believe shows are a “neccesity if you are promoting something” and amongst other things the company was promoting its Digital Blind Fabric service. Hunter Douglas companies Helioscreen, Hexcelscreen and Mermet announced Enduris Glass Core technology, a proprietary combination of superior-quality coatings and glass yarns, fully tested production techniques, and proven performance characteristics. Fabrics with Enduris Glass Core technology ensure outstanding strength, durability, performance and transparency for outdoor and indoor shade applications including the largest shades. The Benthin stand in hall 8 at R+T was busy throughout the show and visitor numbers from the UK were higher than ever before. New product developments were launched for the Benthin roller, pleated and vertical systems. Vertisol was promoting itself under the slogan ‘Fabrics that work’. The Vertisol 2009 Collection has over 680 fabrics and the company has launched its Polyscreen Haute Couture collection and its 2009 Novelties Book. Wo Wo presented its Trendline series, a cassette awning with a modern, future looking design. Also on show was the new Sideline awning which every visitor could handle. Phifer invited visitors to view its distinctive line of eco friendly fabrics, commercial and residential approved fabrics for interior and exterior applications and the newest screening products for windows and doors. Amongst other innovations Coulisse showed its Ultimate Panel Blind and Absolute Roller Blind, which it described as ‘a complete concept for roller blinds’. Dickson unveiled three innovations at the show. A photovoltaic awning fabric manufactured in partnership with Somfy, its latest generation awning fabric Orchestra Max and its Alto FR fire retardant fabric for outdoor application. First time exhibitor Tansun launched its Rio Grande range which includes a heater with integrated lights at either end. It also offers the option of a gold reflector, which creates a soft and ambient glow for those people who prefer a gentler light from their heater. Plus it can be operated from the comfort of an armchair when teamed with Somfy controls. The Modern Garden Company, designers of the revolutionary new boom canopy formally launched Boom at R+T in Stuttgart. Boom is manufactured under licence by Arabella, a Hella owned company who exhibited the stunning marine version on their stand causing great excitement. Guthrie Douglas enjoyed a great show. With their biggest stand ever they had the perfect platform to exhibit all of their main systems and recent developments. There was also a video of their most interesting recent projects which was particularly well received, showing the flagship wire guided TESS 140 system and the 18 metre draw TESS 200, which was the only system there was no room for on the stand.
