With the growth in the market for specialised semi-technical fabrics, Para of Italy leads the field with new soft, drapeable fabrics that add to the Tempotest 100% solution dyed acrylic range. Crowson Fabrics is distributing a major part of the range under the name Calypso. This fabric can be treated to cigarette and match flame retardant standard for upholstery, and now can withstand the Crib 55 contract FR specification. This makes Tempotest Home suitable for many new uses including roman blinds, curtains, garden furniture and outdoor leisure. As well as the Tempotest Home Collection, Para is developing a brand new series of flame retardanr awning fabrics ready for the change in legislation in July where public areas will need to be smoke free. Initial trials have been tested and bulk trials will be concluded and tested before summer. Meanwhile, Para has nominated Seamoor Marine to distribute the Tempotest Marine collection. Comprising both coated waterproof and softened showerproof fabrics, and braided trim in a rainbow of colours, there is a purpose made cloth to suit marine applications like above deck spray dodgers, canopies, awnings and sail bags, and below decks decorative blinds and upholstery.
