Rooflight/Conservatory Retractable Blinds PDF Print E-mail

Versions of roller and pleated blinds are commonly used. Pleated blinds are an economic method of screening rooflights that can be adapted to special glazing shapes most of which allow a retractable operation. The lightweight fabric and rigidity of the pleating minimise the need for supports.

Pinoleum, a material constructed from woven timber strips, gives a heavier effect. It is mounted on heavy duty rollers and is ideally suited to Victorian-style conservatories. Externally, chain link blinds are more effective in reducing solar gain. Constructed from cedar slats, that are connected with stainless links, they are designed to roll down the glazing bars and can be manually or electrically operated.
