“Homebase is looking to broaden its service to people who want extra support when it comes to doing jobs around the home,” said Mrs Haines. “We were delighted to have the opportunity to get involved and embark on our first retail partnership. “For Hillarys it’s another way of raising the profile and increasing awareness of our brand on the back of all our marketing activity, most notably our recent TV campaign.” At the outset, the initiative will be trialled in five Homebase outlets in the Birmingham region with a bespoke stand featuring specially designed literature and a dedicated telephone number. If successful, it will then be rolled out to more Homebase stores within the UK. Hillarys has also developed online services web-blinds.com and blindssupermarket.co.uk and sales of awnings. The company also sells to non-residential commercial customers through a separate division, HCD.
