According to Sun Shade Systems shop window displays often get damaged or spoiled due to the effects of the sun. To avoid this problem Sun Shade Systems says it has developed a range of film roller blinds to help prevent fading whilst also offering protection against heat and glare from the sun.
The View-Thru Duo blind is described as a ‘unique’ roller blind made with two types of film. The top section of the blind is made with grey shade film to reduce heat, glare and UV light from the sun, whilst the lower section is made with either clear (100 per cent) or sputtered (pale tint) film to reduce fading from the sun’s UV light. The combined effect is that shop displays are still visible from the outside, but the presence of the specialist clear or sputtered film slows down the fading process. The company says the tinted grey shade film in the top section drastically reduces glare (by 84 per cent) and heat (by 67 per cent) creating a more comfortable environment in the shop. View-Thru Duo roller blinds are ideal for shops where heat and glare is a problem such as confectioners or butchers, shops where fading is a problem such as fashion retailers and antique dealers as well as listed buildings where external canopies and awnings require approval. Custom made to order in the UK, View-Thru Duo are said to be ‘simple to install and easy to use.’
