The new sliding panel blind from Dimensions by Arena is said to be the perfect contemporary solution for floor to ceiling windows and patio doors.
The company says it is also the ideal way to create discrete lifestyle zones within open-plan areas, for example dividing an office from a living space or a kitchen from a dining room. The panels come in three different widths – 30, 45 and 60cm – and glide on a track operated by either a sidewinder chain or a wand. Each panel cleverly picks up the next when opening and closing. They can stack to the left or the right, or split in the middle to stack either side, like a pair of curtains. A weight is added into the fabric bottom pocket so that they hang beautifully. The system is available in a wide range of different fabrics, to suit any style or taste from a vivid orange to contemporary charcoal, suede, a basket weave effect, aqua and a ‘trendy’ seventies style print.
“As open plan living becomes increasingly popular, sliding panels are a great way to create zones within that space,” said Sarah Quilliam, head of product design for Arena. “There’s also a much greater requirement for a contemporary window dressing that suits the type of large windows often found in loft apartments and today’s new builds. Sliding panels give great light control, privacy and a really modern feel.”
